Sticky Faith

As a parent, I can't think of anything more important to me than my kids developing a strong faith in Christ. When all is said and done with life, there isn't anything more important to me. However, I know from life experience and from the ministry that this is a huge undertaking. I doubt there is a Christian parent who would disagree.

I'm excited about the opportunity to lead a class next quarter entitled - "Sticky Faith".  While the idea is to help parents as they prepare for developing faith in the teen years, I think most people of any time of life would benefit. I recommend that you visit our website and look for info on this class. Some brief info is there with an outline of the class.  There is a link there to stickyfaith.org which has a lot of resources and ways to purchase the book or download it for kindle. It's not required, but I recommend it as it will serve as an outline for the class.

I am thrilled to have served youth and their families for over 20 years now - and I am as determined as ever to help build the faith. We seek to build faith through LTC, this year on the Journey of Faith from Genesis. Building faith is woven into the fabric of our work as a church family. VBS will focus on a similar idea. We are serious about building faith.

There are some realities. The numbers and the probabilities are deflating. However, we serve a BIG GOD to whom nothing is impossible.

Spiritual formation is the catch word these days - which to me is another way of describing building the faith. It's a process particular to each individual and each child - yet guided by the unchanging Word of God. Spiritual formation isn't automatic, it isn't easy, and it's not guaranteed...  However, there are a lot of things we can do to make the faith more sticky... as our kids grow in their journey to adulthood.

I recall from the book, it's never too late, and it's never too early. Join us for Sticky Faith in rooms 111-112, Sundays at 9:30.
