Let's Connect!

In my last blog I talked about things to celebrate at Center Road, and there are so many! Yet, there are some things we need to work on - Particularly ways we need to connect. Some of these challenges will take the faith of Joshua or Abraham to address. For instance:
  • Every week people sitting in the pews around us prepare classes for all ages, from Nursery through Adults. One third of our congregation attends them. Our Worship, including our Children's Worship - is intended to be a gift of Praise to Our God! It's not intended, nor was it ever intended to be sufficient, to adequately equip adults or kids for the fiery darts of Satan. Those who assume that worship attendance is enough - make a very poor assumption. Classes not only are good for equipping from Scripture, but they allow us to share the heart of our brothers and sisters. Why not make 9:30 Sunday and 7:00 a priority in the calendar in 2011? I praise my God for the souls here who give of themselves to give me and my family this opportunity. I can't think of a better place to be next Sunday. LET'S CONNECT.
  • Along that line, our Life Groups are going well and are blessing our congregation. In some ways, classes and Life Groups serve a similar purpose - Bible knowledge and growing closer to one another. They are much more a blessing than I thought they would be (look who's seeing the glass half empty!). Yet, 1/3 of our congregation attends a Life Group. Could say, that's 2/3's when you combine - but it isn't - many of the same people who attend class also attend Life Groups - some more than one. I love my Life Group! I can't wait for us to get it going again! I praise God for not letting me whine my way out of Life Group because I didn't have time. It's worth it. Why not join one in 2011? LET'S CONNECT.
Church, life is busy. Life is busy for me - and I get to enjoy working with people like you all the time. Most of you go to environments to work that are challenging. Some of you work with difficult people. As parents, our lives are full of "what ifs" and "wish I hads". I wrestle with school, performance, and practice schedules that conflict with our classes here. I am doing my best - and I know you are too.

I want my children to KNOW and your children to KNOW that God is faithful. He provided daily for God's people with Joshua - and he gave Abraham the son he promised. Our God was faithful in 2010 - and He's faithful in 2011!

Will you put your trust in some institution of the world - or in the hands of the Almighty God?

LET'S CONNECT!
